Things About Town: Great Gatsby Windows

I just stumbled upon these photos of the gorgeous Great Gatsby-inspired windows at Tiffany’s flagship store on Fifth Ave. The displays were created by Baz Luhrmann and costume/production designer Catherine Martin. The windows are incredibly elegant (then again, I love anything involving champagne or jewelry), and left me even more excited to see the film (which comes out Friday).

I couldn’t leave you without sharing this stunning Great Gatsby-inspired headpiece. What I wouldn’t give to try it on…

Best of the Best: Met Gala 2013

Last night was the fashion event of the year: the Met Gala. The annual ball celebrates the opening of the Met’s fashion exhibit at the Costume Institute. This year’s exhibit is called “Punk: From Chaos to Couture.” Even though I’m not a huge fan of punk, I thought attendees really brought it last night. Sienna Miller and Cara Delevingne were my favorites of the evening. I’m excited to check out the exhibit in person- it runs from May 9 to August 14.

Last Week in Instagram: 5.6.2013

This past week was filled with highs (gorgeous weather, lots of dinners/drinks with friends, senior year traditions) and lows (a broken computer, 29 pages of papers to write in 24 hours). I’ve been loving life lately- I’m trying to enjoy every moment and soak it all in.

Quote of the Week: 5.2.2013

What in my life does this quotation not relate to? I see clear connections to finishing schoolwork, trying to find a job, graduating from college, moving back home, etc… This morning, I have the last class of my undergraduate career. After class, I have to bang out two last papers, then start studying for final exams. Just remember- all things are difficult before they are easy. Push through the pain and you’ll emerge stronger on the other side. P.S. You can buy a print of this quotation here.

Currently Coveting: Under $100

I’ve seen so many good pieces this spring that don’t break the bank. My personal favorite find of the season is the CC Skye Nail Bangle below- I may actually like it better than its much more expensive Cartier cousin. Gap has also been knocking it out of the park. How cute are the dress and clutch below? And those Steve Madden wedges are great, too.

Pretty Little Things: Graduation Cards

I know I said I wasn’t going to talk about graduation, but then I stumbled upon these Rifle Paper Co. graduation cards and I couldn’t keep my mouth shut. How adorable are they? I want to frame them and hang them on my walls for daily inspiration.

Last Week in Instagram: 4.29.2013

Last week was one of the best weeks I’ve had in a long time. I spent every free moment I had with friends, whether out to dinner, drinks, frat parties, or just watching Real Housewives. I celebrated life and spring and friendship and birthdays and all that is good in the world. I finally feel like I achieved the work/life balance I’ve always searched for (but now it’s back to papers on papers before the end of the school year).

Happy Hour: Blackberry Champagne Margarita

I can’t wait to try out this cocktail. Blackberry + champagne + tequila = 3 of my favorite things. The drink looks so refreshing, especially garnished with mint. Salud!

Microtrend: Pavé Diamond Studs

I’ve been loving pavé diamond studs lately and really want to add a pair to my daily jewelry uniform. I found at least four pairs of them while scrolling through my jewelry board on Pinterest. All of the pairs are at wildly different price points. One of the pairs below costs 20 times more than the other- can you guess which is which?
